Your KICLDC Executive voted to make donations this month to two worthy charities. The first donation of $1,000 was made to Pawsitive Match Rescue Foundation for dogs and cats in life-threatening situations and to give them a second chance at life. The second donation of $1,000 was to the Alberta Dog Training Program under CNIB Foundation. Guide dogs make it easier for the person who is blind or vision impaired to use public transport, navigate shopping centres and buildings, find doors, seats and pedestrian crossing buttons. Plus they provide companionship and promote social inclusion. Making friends becomes easier when you have a guide dog.
These donations are possible due to our many KIC volunteers, the performances that we do throughout the year and our very low membership fee. Since 2018 our Club has been able to donate $58,912 to Calgary charities. Thanks to our Executive and membership for making all these donations possible.

A huge THANK YOU to our wonderful membership who donated many non-perishable items of food this week and to our volunteer driver Sandra M. who delivered all the items to the VETS. In addition we had some members donate cash for a total of $180.
Once again, your KICLDC Executive has made a generous donation to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation this past week during Country 105 Radiothon. Our donation of $2k was made during the hour when Enbridge was matching up to $15k so that means our donation doubled. During the last six years, KIC has donated almost $57k to a variety of charities. This is due to our many volunteers and our large membership.
For the third year in a row, KICLDC has won GOLD in the favourite Line Dance Studio category of the Calgary Herald & Calgary Sun Readers Choice Awards. Thanks to everyone who voted. Congratulations to all of our members and especially our volunteers who make this Club an outstanding group to dance with. YAHOO!!!
Every Canadian knows that the month of October brings with it the start of some very chilly weather. For this reason the KICLDC Executive voted to make a $1,000 donation this year to both Inn From The Cold and The Mustard Seed. With these two donations, our total rises to +$52k since our first donation back in 2018. Thanks to all of our registered members, Instructors and to the many performances that we do throughout the year that makes these donations possible.
It's a pleasure to announce that KIC has once again made individual donations of $1,000 each to the Brown Bagging It For Calgary's Kids and Meals on Wheels. These donations are possible due to our wonderful volunteers and our large membership. Since Feb 2018 our Club has now donated over $50k to Calgary charities.
Once again it's exciting to announce another $1,000 donation to the Calgary Counselling Centre made July 1st, 2023. This brings our total donations since Feb 2018 to just over $48k which is due to our Club being run by very generous volunteers who donate their free time to doing many performances throughout the year as well as our dedicated Executive. And of course, we couldn't do this without our membership of dancers.
In February our Club made a donation to the Country 105 Caring For Kids Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation Radiothon in the amount of $2000. This year one donor has offered to double radiothon donations up to $1 million. 100% of the funds raised go directly to the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation. Our Club is excited to be a part of the $2.9M raised this year.
A one time donation was made to the Canadian Angelman Syndrome Society for $1,000. This disease is a neurological disorder for which there is no cure. It affects about 1 in 15,000 people. Since 2018 KIC has generously donated +$44k as a result of our large membership and performance events. Donations Made to: Brown Bagging It For Calgary's Kids, The Delivery Connection (formerly called Meals On Wheels) and Inn From The ColdDonations approved by KIC's Executive were made in October in the amount of $1k each to Brown Bagging It for Calgary's Kids, Meals on Wheels and Inn From The Cold. Donations that this Club makes are spread out over the year and paid in the months that these charities require maximum funds for their needs. These donations are made possible by many volunteers in our Club that make up our Executive and Performance Team. As well as our large membership taking into consideration we still have the lowest line dancing fee in town.
For the second year in a row, Keepin' It Country Line Dance Club is the GOLD winner in the Line Dance Studio competition through the Calgary Herald and Calgary Sun. The official announcement will appear in their paper in November 2022. Congratulations to the Club for their very hard work to receive this honour. YAHOO to every member who helped make this possible as we couldn't do it without you.
